What challenges were you facing before Neto?
The Fastlec was originally built using the open source platform combination of Wordpress and WooCommerce. A key security update to the software meant that the current design theme needed to be re-coded to display properly. It was going to be costly to update the custom theme and undertake the custom plugin development work necessary for integration with our accounting system, which was only completed a few months prior to the update. As a result, our website was not running the latest version, so security was a major issue. This led us down the path towards investigating alternative eCommerce solutions.
How did the Neto solution help solve your challenges?
We decided that a hosted solution, preferably based in Australia specialising in ecommerce would be the way to go and Neto worked out to be cheaper than the dedicated hosting fees we were already paying. All the other features were simply bonuses; such as the eBay integration which we wanted to use as another sales and lead generation channel. The main feature of Neto that was helpful is the robust and flexible import and export facility. Our existing accounting package, Tencia is not very common but having the ability to export data easily out of Neto on a schedule helped them integrate.
What was the end result?
The website has been generating a lot of sales and has also been attracting many new customers. It has been a real learning curve with constant growth to the product range. At present, we are simply aiming to become the leading online electrical wholesaler. Due to this success, the parent company Imensa Holdings decided to develop and launch several eCommerce websites more focused to niche markets within the general electrical industry to serve their unique needs and requirements.
