The Neto Team Cross the 100km Line and Raise over $25,000 for MS Queensland

Last week we wrote about our journey in the lead up to Brissie to the Bay, The Ride to Fight MS and we did it! 23 Netorians, 100km and over $24,000 raised!

The Ride

Brissie to the Bay is an annual cycling event held by MS Queensland in order to raise funds for those currently living with MS. On Sunday the 17th June, 23 brave Netorians woke up before sunrise, slipped into our lycra, strapped on our helmets and set off to Musgrave Park ready to smash the 100km ride.

The Neto cycling team

Joined by over 4,000 other riders, our nerves were high when it was time to start, but the Neto team were ready and excited to be a part of this amazing event, for such an important cause.

Our CEO Ryan, and COO, Jason ready to ride.

Starting out at Musgrave Park in West End, we then headed out to Wynnum for our first pitstop 25km in. Feeling good at this point and greeted by our amazing (and loud) support team, we then headed down along the coast and out to the Cleveland lighthouse where we reached the halfway mark.

The Netour De Bay support crew - complete with puppy cuddles.

Setting off from Cleveland and heading towards the next pitstop at the 75km mark meant hills, hills and more hills (did I mention hills?). But knowing we had the support of everyone at Neto behind us, along with all of our amazing donors and sponsors, the team dug deep and pushed through.

The course.

The end was in sight and after a quick water stop at the 75km mark; only 25km stood between us and our goal, but then – more hills!

Although our legs were really feeling it at this point, Netorians aren’t known for giving up and with our cheer team awaiting our arrival at the finish line, every member of Netour De Bay crossed the finish line, 100km done!

Celebrations at the finish line.

The Cause

Brissie to the Bay - Ride to Fight MS exists to raise funds to support the increasing number of people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS affects more young people than any other acquired chronic neurological disease and between one and two Australians are diagnosed with MS every single day.

This is a cause close to the hearts of all of us here at Neto – with our Chairman Kevin Udell, currently living with the disease.

Our COO Jason, who alone raised almost $5000, with Netour De Bay team members Dave and Rob.
